Jason Weinstein is a partner at Steptoe and serves as co-chair of both the Blockchain and Cryptocurrency and the Investigations and White-Collar Defense practices. Jason is also the Director of the Blockchain Alliance, a public-private forum created to help combat criminal activity involving cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology through education and dialogue between industry and government, which has grown to more than 150 participating companies and government agencies on six continents. He serves on the strategic advisory board of Bitfury and the advisory boards of Coin Center and the Chamber of Digital Commerce. Jason previously served as Deputy Assistant Attorney General in DOJ’s Criminal Division, where he led the Division’s cybercrime, transnational organized crime, human rights, and gang programs, and for 10 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York and the District of Maryland.
