Finalists took the stage at CoinDesk 2022 Consensus gathering to pitch their projects in front of the competition’s distinguished judges and hundreds of Consensus attendees.
PitchFest’s 2022 winners included a social network for the metaverse called Mona; Merkle Science, a risk management platform for crypto-native businesses; and Deeper Network, a blockchain-based cybersecurity company. It was Givepact, a crypto fundraising platform for nonprofits that funds a community DAO for social good, that took the grand prize.

Givepact helps bridge the gap between social justice and Web3 through a crypto fundraising platform for nonprofits that funds a community decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) for social good.
How does Givepact work?
Donors donate to the nonprofit of their choice using the crypto in their wallets. The donor then receives a tax receipt for the full amount of the donation upon payment.
Givepact uses a smart contract to automatically split up the donation, with 5% taken as a service fee. Givepact uses 80% of that fee to fund Givepact INC, with the remaining 20% is used to fund the Givepact DAO.
Then, Givepact automatically converts the crypto donation to cash and shares the funds with the selected nonprofit by way of a check or direct deposit.
Givepact will distribute its native PACT token to donors, community members and nonprofits. These tokens can be used to participate in the governance of the Givepact DAO. PACT holders can use their tokens to vote on where to direct DAO funds.
